Who doesn't want to lose weight? Everyone I know does. How do we get that weight off and keep it off for good!
First, we have to be realistic, what is our goal? Decide what you want to weigh and make a decision that you are going to do this. Once we get to that goal, why not stay there. Sure we will over eat and eat the wrong things, but get those extra pounds off as soon as we see that we have gained them. DON'T wait till
that number is 10 pounds! On a bright colored index card, write that magic number that you want to be at and the date you want to be there and post it on your desk, on the mirror in the bathroom, on your nightstand, on the sunvisor in your car and anywhere else that will keep this on your mind.Second, make some changes. How much water do you drink? Keep a record for one day and see. What you should drink is one half your body weight in ounces of water (so if you weigh 200 pounds, you should drink 100 ounces of water per day). If it is hot or you are working out of course you need more water. The body has to have water, even to lose weight. Speaking of drinking, what do you drink, sugary soft drinks, beer, wine, sugary juices or what? Look at the calories and sugar in these drinks and make some changes. Set a goal, say for 1 week I will not drink soft drinks, see if you miss them and see how many calories you saved. Start cutting back and on the beer and wine and just see if you make it with less. Make those small changes.
Third, what are you eating? You know the old saying: You Are What You Eat! Your body needs good protein. Organic is best. How about some pure whey protein for breakfast in the form of a shake. Feed that body and brain what it needs, with fewer calories. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel and watch the mental clarity appear. Eat those good fruits and vegetables. You need good fats. Set a goal that you will cook your food and not eat out. When you cook your food you know what is going into your body. As you make these changes, it won't take long until your body will not want that junk food, you will want good healthy food.
Fourth, how many hours of sleep a night are you getting? You need 8 hours of sleep a night. The best sleep is in a dark and cool room. Take time to wind down before you get in to bed.
